Wind Box (ウインドボックス Uindo Bokkusu) is a virus from the Mega Man Battle Network series. The virus itself won't be able to damage its target. However, it can blow its target away from it, potentially hindering the movement pattern of its target. Variants can either pull in the target via vacuum or do both blow and pull. As the level increases on variants, the frequency and power at which it blows or pulls also increases. The virus remains stationary and does not move.

Battle Chips[]

The Wind Box family has two Battle Chips. Wind (トップウ Toppuu, lit. "Wind Gust") summons a WindBox with 100-200 HP (depending of the game) in front of the user that will generate wind to push the opponents away. Fan (スイコミ Suikomi, lit. "Suction" / "Intake") summons a VacuumFan that pulls opponents. None of them do damage, but when used on sand panels, it will blow or suck the sand away from the stage, causing some damage in the process.

MegaMan NT Warrior Axess - Code of Conduct - Fan

Fan in MegaMan NT Warrior Axess

In the MegaMan NT Warrior Axess episode Code of Conduct, Lan used the Battle Chip Fan to help MegaMan find the real ShadowMan among his copies by pulling him. Of note, the virus created by the Battle Chip mistakenly had the colors of the Wind Box instead of the Vacuum Fan.

Trivia[]

  • Wind Box was nicknamed Sōfū-kun (送風くん "Mr. Fan") during development.[1]
  • Since this virus is constantly attacking, it is not possible to score a counter hit against any of its variants.
