Twin Dream, also known as Sougenmu (双幻夢 lit. "Twin Phantasm") in Japan, is a special technique that Zero uses.
Mega Man X5[]
In Mega Man X5, Zero learns Twin Dream after defeating Spike Rosered. When the player selects this technique using the L/R Buttons and then presses the S.M. Button to activate it, Zero produces a solid colored hologram in front of him that mimics his every move, Saber slash and technique, that lasts for a while before disappearing. This technique is more or less Zero's version of Mega Man X's Soul Body from Mega Man X4. Since the hologram can go through walls, Twin Dream can be rather helpful in eliminating enemies that Zero may otherwise might not be able to reach in front of him. If Zero is hit while the hologram is on the screen, it will abruptly disappear.
Crescent Grizzly and Sigma's final form are weak against this technique.

- For Twin Dream, the hologram will inflict the same amount of damage regardless of which move or technique it copies from Zero.

Fighting games[]
This attack also appears in the game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and reappears in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. In the former, Zero's shadow is a blue and gel-like afterimage that only appears and doubles the damage-dealing on his special moves, save for Hienkyaku. In the latter, the afterimage is instead grey and resembles Zero more closely, and now traces after all of his movements.
Also, in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, when Zero performs his Snapback (which uses the motion for Shippuuga) on an opponent (only where his shadow hits the foe while an assist is on screen), the foe will be permanently tagged out and none of the opposition's team members will be on screen for the rest of the match, enabling cheap time-outs. This was fixed in a patch where the shadow would instantly disappear when a Snapback was used.
In Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite however, the shadow now has more of a delay when following Zero's movements, and is also now colored blue once more with its motion/command being changed.
