Split Mushroom (スプリット・マシュラーム, Split Mushroom^?) is a trouble-making Maverick in Mega Man X4. He had reactivated the long defunct Bio Laboratory. He has the ability to create clones of himself, and if given the chance, he'll send out some damaging powder as well. Electricity is his weakness, so depending on who is being played, strike him with Lightning Web as X or Raijingeki as Zero.

Most bosses show the ability gained by the player during the fight. X's Soul Body is reminiscent of Split Mushrooms creating image clones while on the wall. Zero's Kuuenbu and Kuuenzan is made after Split Mushroom's jumping in the air an spinning in the air.

• Split Mushroom's attack pattern is similar to that of Gemini Man's from Mega Man 3, as they both create clones of themselves that run back and forth. However, Split Mushroom's clone doesn't react to Mega Man's movements like Gemini Man's does.
• He is the only Maverick to be based on an organism of the Kingdom Fungi.
• His jump/spin attack seems similar to the Screw Attack from the Metroid series.
