The new parts (新パーツ, new parts^?) are power up items from Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters. They are new, incomplete experimental energy parts that Dr. Light developed based on his research over an unknown form of energy that was discovered on a small island.^[1][2] When Dr. Wily's robots attacked Dr. Light's Laboratory, the new parts were stolen, and Wily equipped them in some of his robots (chosen randomly) to increase their power. When the robot is defeated, the player is equipped with the new parts, its effect varying depending of the story chosen:

• Search for Wily! - Increases the power of melee attacks.
• Rescue Roll! - Increases the energy of Special Weapons and the power of the Charge Shot.
• Recover the new parts! - The player can perform a super-jump.
