This article is about the NetNavi NapalmMan.EXE. For his Robot Master counterpart, see Napalm Man. For other uses, see Napalm Man (disambiguation). |
NapalmMan.EXE (ナパームマン.EXE[7][8] Napāmuman Eguze) is a military-grade NetNavi in Mega Man Battle Network series. He was a legendary solo NetNavi in Battle Network 2, but becomes Fyrefox's Navi in Battle Network 5 after they hit it off[9] with their love for huge sparks and explosions[10]. It's said that NapalmMan's creation is based on military info that was leaked from a certain country.[5]
Appearance[]
NapalmMan is similar to his Robot Master counterpart from the classic Mega Man series except he has purple feet instead of tank treads for feet. NapalmMan has a black body, a purple head fused with his black arms, a red part on his forehead, a purple cannon on each of his arms, a purple part under his body, a purple boots with cream lining on each middle of his feet and a lighter tip, and gray part on each back of his feet. NapalmMan has green eyes.
His Navi mark has a pale yellow surrounding and represents a tri-color triangle on a black background. The triangle in the Navi mark is colored with a lavender area on top, a purple area on the middle and a red area on the bottom, and also a orange ring is surround on the middle of the triangle.
History[]
Mega Man Battle Network 2[]
He is the second boss in the hidden WWW Area, guarding a door that only opens if all "V3" Navi Battle Chips (except for PharaohMan, NapalmMan, PlanetMan and Bass) have been acquired. After his defeat, his V2 form can be found in WWW Area 2, and after defeating the V2 form his V3 form appears randomly in battles in the same area.
Mega Man Battle Network 5[]
He later comes under the control of a fireworks-maker named Fyrefox and after some persuasion becomes a member of Team ProtoMan. Surprisingly, he is weaker in this game (but this was probably to ensure a fair fight in the game). After he is used in a Liberation Mission the player gains his Double Soul.
Other appearances[]
Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation[]
NapalmMan is an unlockable playable character in the game, with the player needing to either use the Battle Chip Gate or by defeating Forte. His theme is a remix of his Robot Master's counterpart from Rockman 5: Blues no Wana!?. He gains HP by absording Fire-based Battle Chips.
Anime[]
MegaMan NT Warrior[]
In the anime, NapalmMan, renamed to MoltanicMan in the English dub, is a powerful Navi from DarkLand that hypnotizes KnightMan to help him take control of BrightLand by destroying the firewall of the country. He pretends to be injured with amnesia to gain their trust, but he uses hypnosis to make Glide cause trouble to keep MegaMan and his friends busy. This gives him the opportunity to destroy the firewall, allowing the DarkLand Navis to attack. MoltanicMan is eventually deleted and the firewall is raised once again. KnightMan's Betrayal!
Rockman.EXE Stream[]
In Stream, he reappears as an Asteroid, who is given by Slur to a criminal Gai Domon, but NapalmMan and the criminal's PET are both damaged and he has to hide elsewhere to recover, ending up in the PET of a fireworks-maker named Nenji Rokushakudama. Nenji heals him and the two became friends. The Explosion that Carries Happiness
Nenji receives the Crest of Duo and a Synchro Chip which lets them use Cross Fusion. Offering of Deko Fireworks Under Duo's Comet
Rockman.EXE Beast[]
In Beast, he reappears as a Zoanoroid and serves Glaga. His appearance is different compared to his original incarnation. Several parts are colored differently, there is the presence of spiked shoulder guards, and he also has two extra nodules on his back. Colonel's Rampage
Abilities[]
Although the original robot was a heavy weapon-loading machine, NapalmMan's attacks are very limited to the followings:
- Vulcan Arm (バルカンアーム Barukan Āmu):
He summons and/or use an arm cannon onto the first row of his side of the field to shoot the player with a crosshaired vulcan. In Battle Network 2, his V3 form use two arm cannon in row.
- Fire Bomb (ファイアボム Faia Bomu):
He throws bombs at random across the field. In Battle Network 2, these 3 bombs crack these panels. In Battle Network 5, the bombs spread in a plus formation after impact, and may crack the panel they land on.
- Napalm, known in Japan as Napalm Bomb (ナパームボム Napāmu Bomu):
While the player is operating him in Battle Network 5, this is his Special Chip. In Battle Network 2, it is used when NapalmMan has less than half of its HP MAX, he throws a bomb dealing fire damage to the panel it lands. If it does not hit an enemy, the explosion spreads to the surrounding 8 panels.
Mega Man Battle Network 2[]
- Ground Flame (地面の炎 Jimen no Honō):
Fire Bombs leave a ring of fire where they land. They last on the field for a while and deal more damage than the bomb itself.
Mega Man Battle Network 5[]
- Napalm Vulcan (ナパームバルカン Napāmu Barukan): As a playable character, holding down the B Button makes NapalmMan use Napalm Vulcan instead of a Charge Shot. This is also his Support ability in MMBN5DS.
Double Soul[]
Napalm Soul[]
- Activated by sacrificing a fire chip.
- The charge shot is a 3 shot vulcan fire element attack.
- Fire chips + 40.
- Charging a fire chip with the [A] button doubles its power and turns it into a Napalm Bomb that seeks the nearest enemy.
- Stepping on lava panels absorbs it, causing the next fire chip used to do more damage per lava panel.
Napalm Chaos[]
MegaMan's Charge Shot becomes Dark Meteor, which rains down Meteors that target enemies at a fast rate. Each meteor does 100 fire damage, and destroys the panel it hits. However, the meteors cause flinching, making it more suitable for deleting viruses than fighting bosses.
Battle Chips[]
NapalmMan (ナパームマン Napāmuman) chips can only be obtained in the Team ProtoMan version. They can be traded with the Team Colonel version, where they are Secret Chips.
Napalm, known as Napalm Bomb (ナパームボム Napāmu Bomu) in Japan, can only be obtained in-battle while operating NapalmMan.

Trivia[]
- NapalmMan is the only playable Navi in the Mega Man Battle Network series without a Charge Shot attack.
- NapalmMan's Navi Mark resembles an explosion, likely a nuclear explosion due to the ring surrounding it.
- In the English Battle Network 5 DS, there is unused sound clips using MoltanicMan, meaning there was a point during localization they thought on using the NT Warrior dub name.
- According to a dev Q&A, NapalmMan left the WWW Area and entered the Net to find greater explosive strength. In his travels, he crossed paths with Fyrefox and they hit it off.[11]
