MetalMan.EXE (メタルマン Metaruman?), known as HeavyMetalMan.EXE in the English anime dub, is Tamako's NetNavi in the Mega Man Battle Network series.

Game History

MetalMan first appeared in Yoka as an optional boss, and is one of MegaMan's opponents in the N1 Grand Prix.

Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge

MetalMan is one of the opponents in the Battle Chip GP.

Mega Man Battle Network 4

In the Blue Moon version, MegaMan can obtain the Metal Soul after defeating MetalMan in the Hawk Tournament. His Battle Chip can be obtain after defeating his Phantom Navi.

Anime History

MegaMan NT Warrior Axess

MetalMan appears as Tamako's NetNavi in the anime, and is just as enthusiastic as Tamako in Netbattling. He and MegaMan team up to defeat BubbleMan in MetalMan's first appearance in episode 5.

In his second appearance in episode 17, he and MegaMan Netbattle again. This time, MetalMan learns a new move which is a punch so powerful, it damages his hand to use it. They team up to fight SavageMan and MegaMan gains Metal Soul.

Zoano MetalMan (Beast form)

Zoanoroid MetalMan appears briefly in episode 23 fighting against C.F. KnightMan and C.F. NeedleMan. He serves Gregar.

Rockman.EXE Beast+

MetalMan appears as a Phantom Navi in episode 23. The actual MetalMan is shown right after enjoying the pleasures of a hot spring along with his operator, Tamako.

Manga History

MetalMan appeared in the manga Battle Story Rockman.EXE.

  • Metal Gear: (メタルギア) MetalMan starts with two gears that move back and forth on the central row. These gears will obstruct the player's movement, and deal minor damage. He can also switch the gears' movement pattern in Mega Man Battle Network 4.
  • Metal Wheel: (メタルホイール) Also known as Metal Blade (メタルブレード?). MetalMan fires a large razor that circumvents the battlefield. If it is in the middle of the panels, it will head straight at the player, similar to a BoomerEX's ability to target the player if it is alone.
  • Metal Missile: (メタルミサイル) MetalMan fires three missiles which will target the player's position.
  • Metal Fist: (メタルフィス) MetalMan moves up to the player and punches on his panel, destroying it.
  • Break Buster: (ブレイクバスター) MetalMan's buster in Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation.

Battle Chips

MetalMan has two types of Battle Chips that can be obtained by the player:

The MetalMan Battle Chip family summons MetalMan, which will attack a square ahead with Metal Fist and break it. The player can control the position of his attack by holding the A button when using the chip to move him forward or backwards.

The Metal Gear Battle Chip family creates a gear in an empty square from the enemy area, and it will move back and forth until it hits an enemy.

  • Normal Buster shots break through guards.
  • Non-dimming, non-elemental chips can be charged for double damage.
  • Charge Shot becomes Metal Break, dealing 150 breaking damage to the panel immediately ahead and pushing the target back one square.
