―In-game text, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X

Marooned Tomahawk (マルーンドトマホーク Marūndo Tomahōku) is a Shoulder-type cutter weapon that Vile obtains by defeating Boomerang Kuwanger and Armored Armadillo in Mega Man Maverick Hunter X. When equipped, Vile shoots a light blue cutter that goes out but never comes back. It flies about halfway to the edge of the screen from Vile’s position, then just stays still in midair and rotates. It vanishes after a few seconds.

Marooned Tomahawk is Sting Chameleon's weakness. This Cutter weapon is also capable of cutting off Launch Octopus's tentacles and Flame Mammoth's trunk.

Defeating Boomerang Kuwanger and Armored Armadillo will not only reward Vile with Marooned Tomahawk, but he will also be granted the Stubborn Crawler as well.

Other appearances[]

Mega Man X DiVE[]

While Marooned Tomahawk doesn't appear itself, Halloween Vile's Batwing Boomerang is a light blue, bat-shaped cutter that functions similarly, staying in place for a while after hitting an enemy.

Etymology[]

  • Marooned Tomahawk's name refers to "marooning": the act of intentionally abandoning someone, similar to how the projectile stays in place and Vile can leave it there. Additionally, a tomahawk is a bladed, axe-like weapon often thrown with a spin.
