Magma Dragoon, known as Magmard Dragoon (マグマード・ドラグーン?) in Japan, is one of the Mavericks in Mega Man X4. He also appeared as the boss of the training stage of Mega Man X5. As his name implies, he is based on a dragon.
Magma Dragoon betrayed the Maverick Hunters and became a Maverick himself, attacking in Sky Lagoon. He is sort of a tribute of the Street Fighter series, yelling out "Hadouken" and "Shoryuken" when attacking. X can defeat him easily with Double Cyclone. Zero has a bit of a harder time, and he will have to get creative in order to damage him with the Raijingeki. But in the first encounter with him in the Volcano, if you can bring the Ride Armor with close to full health, you may be able to defeat Magma Dragoon before the Ride Armor gets destroyed.
When you defeat him in the first encounter, he apologizes for his actions, stating how he had always dreamed of fighting X/Zero, and then a mysterious man offered him that chance, which he simply couldn't refuse.
Most bosses show the ability that you gain during the fight. For X, his Rising Fire is Dragoon's Shoryuken. Zero's Ryuenjin is very similar to the Shouryuken as well, as he nearly does an uppercut action with his Z-Saber.
In X8, when Zero has the K-Knuckle equipped, his Enkoujin is changed to a move which is a downwards fire kick towards the ground, which, is a move Dragoon did in X4, and also, a street fighter move.
