Mad Grinder (マッドグラインダー Maddo Guraindā) is a road roller robot from the Mega Man series with a punk-like appearance.

Appearances[]

Mega Man 7[]

Mad Grinder is one of the robots that helped Dr. Wily escape from prison. In the intro, it is seen attacking the city and breathing fire. When Mega Man faces it in the Opening Stage, it is shown to have suffered damage during the attack on the city. It attacks by throwing the mohawk-like blade on its head like a cutting boomerang and trying to run over Mega Man with its roller. During the fight against it, it does not breathe fire, presumably because of the damage it received. This is supported by the fact that the pipe on its back, presumably its fuel pipe, is broken.

Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters[]

Mad Grinder is the penultimate boss from the "Search for Wily!" course in Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters and Rockman Battle & Fighters. It appears without damage and has improved abilities, like lifting its roller to smash enemies and breathing fire. It is vulnerable to the Centaur Arrow.

Other appearances[]

Mad Grinder has a cameo appearance in the background of the stage Dr. Wily's Military Base in Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes.

Other media[]

Mega Man (Archie Comics)[]

Mad Grinder has cameo appearances in issue 20 and 27 of the Archie Comics Mega Man comic. In the first issue, it is seen attacking Mega City while Mega Man is traveling randomly through time, this presumably being a foreshadowing of its future attack. The second took place during the Worlds Collide crossover, in which Mad Grinder appeared aboard the Wily Egg and was amongst the obstacles bypassed by Duo as he made his way up to join Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man against the Chaos Devil.

Rockman 7[]

Mad Grinder appears in the manga with the same role from the game.
