Link PET_EX (リンクペットエクシード Rinku Petto Ekushīdo, "Link PET Exceed") is a personal terminal from the Mega Man Battle Network series designed by Takara.[1]
Description
The Link PET retains the holographic touch screen of its predecessor, and also features a stylus for further interactivity, possibly a reference for the Nintendo DS stylus.
In the anime, NetNavis are able to appear in the real world as miniature holographic representations of themselves, usually standing on their operators shoulders (in the game Navis can only appear in the real world using CopyBots).
Games
Not much is said about this PET model in the games, except that Lan Hikari has one in Mega Man Battle Network 6 and it contains all the basic features from previous models.
Anime
In the Rockman.EXE Beast anime, the Link PET_EX was developed by SciLab and IPC and tested in the first episode. During Cross Fusion, it gives Lan, Chaud, and Raika jet-propelled flight abilities, and the Battle Chip processing speed is faster than its predecessor. Lan wears his PET in a holder on his left arm.
In Rockman.EXE Beast+, Lan's PET is upgraded by Mr. Famous to be better compatible with the Beast Out ability.
Toys
Takara released toy versions of the Link PET_EX between 2005 and 2006.
Link Navi Starter is a starter box with a Navi Data Chip, two Battle Chips, a NetNavi mark, and a jacket to customize the PET.
