Geo HunterVG

Geo's Hunter-VG active

The Hunter-VG (ハンターVG) is a new form of mobile terminal in Mega Man Star Force 3, succeeding the Transer and the Star Carrier.

Specifications[]

  • Retractable Display - Also the main display, the player can operate the Hunter-VG by touching the icons on the display. In addition to sending or receiving email and phone calls, the player can also track and manage Battle Card and Wizard information.
  • Emblem Display - The installed Wizard Emblem appears here.
  • Wizard Slot - This slot serves as the installation point for Wizard Adapters. Slots and adapters are manufactured in accordance with a single unified standard, making it possible to install a wide range of adapters into any Hunter-VG.
  • Wizard Adapter - Wizard data is stored on Wizard Adapters. The player can install a Wizard to their Hunter-VG by inserting a Wizard Adapter into the Wizard slot.
  • Pop-up system - When someone interacts with another Hunter-VG user, pop-ups will appear on their screens to quickly show important information. The pop-ups vary per user, examples including the name of the person being talked with, their work, Wizard, and Purpose. Except for the name, touching the pop-ups will show more information about the person. Some also have a "Help" icon with a Mission Request. Pop-ups also appear in certain locations, like an elevator showing the floors available and the Spica Mall having ads in some areas.

Functions[]

The Hunter-VG has many features shared by the previous devices, such as communication and easy access to the Internet. It uses the WAZA Wave System and can also create Real Waves just like the Star Carrier can create Matter Waves. This ability is applied for materializing Wizards; when the operator shouts out "Wizard On!", the Wizard can roam freely until the operator shouts "Wizard Off!" The device has a special type of lock. By unlocking the lock, the owner of the Hunter-VG will become allied to the Satella Police. The owner will then be registered under an organization called Project Transcode (also called Project-TC) where the owner of a Hunter-VG and a battle Wizard are legally allowed to perform EM Wave Change.

Transcoding[]

The Hunter-VG is a hand-held most of the time, but when the user Wave Changes, the user must attach the Hunter-VG to their arm, saying "Transcode,..." The Hunter-VG will say the ID of the Transcode, e.g., 003, and the user will say their codename at the name of the Wave Change e.g., Mega Man. When equipping the Hunter-VG, the emblem will turn sideways to serve as the EM Wave Change switch. This function, built into the Hunter-VG, suggests that the device was designed for EM Wave Changing, even though this has not been announced to the public.

BrotherBand[]

Like previous terminals, the Hunter-VG can be used to form a BrotherBand with other users. The player's Hunter-VG has the following customization options:

  • Codename - A nickname used when accessing the network.
  • Message (Comment in Japanese) - A short message for other players. The Hunter-VG does not have a Secret message like the previous terminals.
  • Link Power - A numerical representation of the link between the user and the Brothers. Geo can have eight Brothers in-game (Luna, Bud, Zack, Woody, Lee, Sonia, Dr. Goodall, and Ace), resulting in a maximum of 900 Link Power. The player can also have six real life Brothers to double the value.
  • White Card - A system similar to the Favorite Cards from the previous two games. Instead of the player choosing 4 Battle Cards from their folder to use as their "Favorites", the White Card system instead gives the player a preset selection of cards, independent of the player's folder. The player can also toggle whether these cards can appear in the Custom Screen during battle. White Cards can be input in the menu with a Noise Mod Gear or obtained from different Wave Stations.
  • Team Name - The name of the group of Brothers that share the same Purpose. The game has 10 pre-made names: Geo Finalize, Black Ace, Red Joker, Attack Star, Omega-Xis, Luna 4 Prez, Sonia Fans, Pat & Rey, Root 4 Zack, and Budicus.
  • Team Logo (Team Mark in Japan) - The logo from the team. The game has 10 pre-made logos: Luna4Prez, Rocket, Concert, Trip, Find Prez, ACE, CrushDealr, Star Force, Black Ace, and Red Joker.
  • Team Purpose (Team Rezon in Japan) - A common goal from the team, such as "Win 100 Battles" and "Save 100 Hertzes".
