ZX Vent

Vent, a Humanoid.

For the Mega Man "Humanoids", see Robot Master.

Humanoid (ヒューマノイド Hyūmanoido) is a term from the Mega Man ZX series that refers to humans with mechanical parts. Humanoids can be considered similar to "cyborgs" in the Mega Man franchise.

History[]

To create equality between humans and Reploids, Legion created a law that humans must have mechanical parts, and Reploids have lifespans. Since both are now treated as humans, the only difference between them is that human-like Reploids have a red triangle on their forehead. Humans who have reached a certain age are given the same mechanical body as Reploids, and can replace part or all of their bodies with machines, with the original body parts being stored at a national facility. In addition, humans who have obtained mechanical bodies are given a "Hu" number ("Hu" being an abbreviation for "Human"), a verification ID indicating that the person has the body.[1]

In Mega Man ZX Advent, Master Thomas says that the original human parts that were replaced are stored by Legion, alongside the similarly confiscated original Reploid data, and it is implied that he plans to do something with them alongside the four Mega Men carrying the Biometals Model P, L, F and H (Siarnaq, Thetis, Atlas, and Aeolus, respectively).[2]

Trivia[]

Mega Man X DiVE Aile detail

The navy portion of Aile's body in Mega Man X DiVE.

  • In the Japanese version, ヒト (hito, "human") and its plural ヒトビト (hitobito, "people") are often used to refer to both Humanoids and Reploids without distinction, while 人間 (ningen, "human") is generally used specifically for Humanoids.[1] This connotation was lost in English as the words have the same meaning.
  • The navy portions of Vent's and Aile's bodies that look like tights actually are the surface of their mechanical bodies. The mechanical surface from Humanoids can be any color, with some choosing a skin-colored surface for fashion reasons, while others actually kept portions of real skin.[3]
