Heat Man (ヒートマン Hītoman?) is a Robot Master created by Dr. Albert W. Wily whose main purpose was to be an upgrade of Fire Man, considering that they are both the same type of fire Robot Master. As his body must be sealed up to unleash its full temperature, his body has a comical Zippo lighter shape. He is invulnerable for a short time when he is engulfed in fire. His weapon, Atomic Fire, was the first chargeable weapon from the Mega Man games.

Warning: Using Crash Bomber on him will completely restore his energy!

"Wait a minute... I'll get ignited."
Good point: Living
Bad point: Burned out
Like: Barbecue
Dislike: Ice cream

Note: Part of Heat Man's data was removed in the English version. It says:
そうびされたあっしゅくがた ブラスターは12000どにもおよぶ., which roughly means His body can reach temperatures of up to 12000 degrees Celsius. To those who don't know, this is hotter than the center of the Earth.

[edit] Trivia

  • Upon his appearance in Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters right before the battle starts, he says his name, "Heat Man!", which is pronounced "Hītoman" in Japanese.
  • In Mega Man: The Power Battle, Heat Man has unused sprites showing he has a habit of smoking (not too surprising considering the fact that he looks like a Zippo lighter). [1]
  • Heat Man makes a cameo appearance in Mega Man 7. He, along with many other Robot Masters from the previous Mega Man games can be seen in the background of the Robot Museum.
  • A portion of the background music that plays in the Robot Museum of Mega Man 7, is a remix of the background music that plays in his stage in Mega Man 2.
  • In Super Adventure Rockman it's shown that his lid shuts unintentionally when he laughs.
  • When Heat Man appears on Captain N: The Game Master, he is taller (at least in terms of proportions), and he is red and has a blaster on one hand. He also looks much more metallic and has a picture of a flame on his armor.
  • Graf Michael Sepperin, a character the doujin soft series, Rosenkreuzstilette, uses a similar attack pattern to Heat Man.
  • Heat Man's stage makes an apperance in the music video "Air Man ga Taosenai".  The player is uable to cross the blocks that disappear in his stage.  It is mentioned that with Item-2 it would be easy, but the player can't beat Air Man to get it.
