Heat Man (ヒートマン Hītoman?) is a combat Robot Master created by Dr. Wily based on Fire Man's design. His body is highly resistant to heat and fire, and has the shape of a Zippo lighter, the lid sometimes shutting down unintentionally, usually when he guffaws. He has a dial in his back that regulates the power of his flames, which he's unaware of. His main weapon is Atomic Fire, which can produce flames up to 21,632 degrees Fahrenheit (12,000 degrees Celsius). He can surround himself in flames for protection, making him invulnerable for a short time, and tries to tackle enemies while on fire. He can also spit fire from his mouth and project enormous fire blasts from his hands.

If Crash Bomber or Atomic Fire is used on Heat Man (the latter can only be used during the rematch battle in the 5th Wily Stage) in Mega Man 2, his health will be regenerated completely. Crash Bomber also causes Heat Man to dash about the battle ground at high speed.

StrategyEdit

Mega Man 2Edit

As with Flash Man, it can be difficult to destroy him without his weakness, but the Mega Buster can defeat him in 7 shots on Normal difficulty and 14 on Difficult setting. First, he shoots Atomic Fire, which are three blobs of fire that when they touch the floor, they extend upward to make fire pillars just like Flame Blast. To dodge run towards Heat Man as he fires the three fire balls at Mega Man, jumping over the lowest one. Be careful not to get hit by the pillars, then shoot at Heat Man. Repeat to win. Be very careful and take in mind that, as he receives damage, he ignites and dashes after a few seconds, and in that state he is invincible.

His weakness is Bubble Lead, can ignore the effects of the fire pillars and deals immense damage to him; however, he is invulnerable to Bubble Lead while ignited.

Another strategy is, to shoot Heat Man after he stops dashing and repeat until he is defeated. This should be combined with Bubble Lead, as this will save time and energy, and defeat him faster. More advanced players are able to shoot him quick enough to not throw any fire. However, in Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, should this be done, he will still throw the fire right after entering his stage of invincibility before his next dash attack.

Mega Man (Ruby-Spears)Edit

Heat Man appears in the episode Bro Bots from the Mega Man animated series, were he works with Elec Man and Needle Man. The three attack the city's museum and are defeated by Mega Man and Proto Man, being retrieved by Dr. Wily. They later appear in Wily's hideout and attack Mega Man, but are paralyzed by him. The only attack Heat Man used in the series was his ability to spit fire.

Captain N: The Game MasterEdit

Heat Man appeared in Episode 20 of the cartoon Captain N: The Game Master, where he plays football against the main characters. Heat Man is taller (at least in terms of proportions), his main color is red and he has a blaster on one hand. He also looks much more metallic and has a picture of a flame on his armor.

Mega Man MegamixEdit

In the manga Mega Man Megamix, Heat Man appears in the story "Orders to Destroy R", where he, Crash Man and Metal Man appeared to help Air Man when he was outnumbered by Dr. Light's robots. When Mega Man went after Wily using Item-2, Heat Man asked Crash Man to give him Crash Bombs, which he consumed to use as boosts to pursue Mega Man by air, fighting against him along the way. Near Wily's castle, Bubble Man appeared in the sea below and attacks Mega Man. During the chase, Mega Man managed to kick Heat Man into the water, damaging him because of the sudden temperature change and heating the water near Bubble Man, who had to escape to avoid the heat, making them unable to continue the pursuit.

Mega Man (Dreamwave Productions)Edit

Heat Man is the only Robot Master from the games to appear prominently in the comic. He caused mayhem in an airport and attacked Dr. Light's house.

Mega Man (Archie Comics)Edit

Heat Man is one of the Robot Masters created by Dr. Wily.

  • In Mega Man: The Power Battle, unused sprites show animations of Heat Man lighting and smoking a cigarette, Heat Man having his lid shut on him, and him being frozen solid (by the Ice Slasher).[1] Also, the music that plays when fighting Heat Man in this game is a remix of Gyro Man's theme.
  • The maximum temperature Heat Man can reach, 12000 degrees Celsius, is higher than the Earth's core and the Sun's surface. Also, fire doesn't reach this temperature in reality, this heat being closer to plasma.
  • Heat Man has a cameo appearance in Mega Man 7. He, along with other Robot Masters from the previous Mega Man games can be seen in the background of the Robot Museum.
  • A portion of the background music that plays in the Robot Museum of Mega Man 7, is a remix of the background music that plays in his stage in Mega Man 2.
  • Graf Michael Sepperin, a character the doujin soft series, Rosenkreuzstilette, uses a similar attack pattern to Heat Man.
  • Heat Man's stage makes an appearance in the music video "Air Man ga Taosenai" ("Air Man Can't Be Defeated"). The player is unable to cross the blocks that disappear in his stage. It is mentioned that with Item-2 it would be easy, but the player can't beat Air Man to get it.
  • If Crash Bomber is used on Heat Man during his flame tackle state, the A.I. will shift back and forth in the spot of the explosion and repeat the tackle again while regaining health.
  • It is actually possible to deal damage to Heat Man using the Crash Bomber, however it has to be used at the exact time Heat Man launches his fire, but the damage output is rather minimal.
  • Like with Air Man, a glitch to teleport Mega Man to a glitchy Dr. Wily Stage can be performed by using a particular weapon while doing a certain action. With Heat Man, Mega Man, if he has the Bubble Lead and jumps against the boss gate while getting hit by the Atomic Fire, will send him to a glitched version of Wily Stage 1. However, the "stage" can't be cleared since Mega Man did not beat Heat Man to get the needed Item-1, and like with the glitch in Air Man's stage, the stage can no longer be cleared, forcing the player to reset the game.
  • Ironically, in the Archie Comic's Mega Man series in issue 10, Heat Man is extremely heat-intolerant and Mega Man finds him complaining about being hot (as he's stationed in a geothermal plant filled with molten lava), stating that he doesn't even want to move.
