Galaxy Man (ギャラクシーマン?) is one of the Robot Masters from Mega Man 9 whose period of use had expired and was scheduled to be scrapped. Galaxy Man was designed to work in a space research center where it was his job to instantly calculate the trajectories for rockets. He loves to observe stars and name any new ones that he finds. He seems to have the ability to fly short distances, retracting his arms and legs when he does so, just like Gigabolt Man-O-War's "UFO mode" from Mega Man X8, along with teleportation. Galaxy Man is also able to constantly change colors. His weapon, the Black Hole Bomb, can be used to suck enemies into a black hole or drain certain enemies' health, similar to the Gravity Well weapon from Mega Man X3. His stage consists of a series of portals.

[edit] Strategy

Galaxy Man is considered the easiest Robot Master in Mega Man 9. He begins battle by hovering toward the player, dealing contact damage to Mega Man if he does not move quickly enough. He then jumps in the air and fires a Black Hole Bomb at where the player is standing, then teleports under the black hole. If Mega Man collides with Galaxy Man, he will take damage. He then teleports back in the ceiling, then he lands and tries to attack Mega Man again.

If you have the Concrete Shot, you can actually neutralize the Black Hole Bomb. Galaxy Man will then be extremely vulnerable since he will still teleport where the bomb would have exploded, but he will just be standing there and there will be nothing to pull you toward him. However, this should only be a necessary only in the Wily Stage 4, for most people don't even get to Concrete Man before Galaxy Man.

[edit] Trivia

  • Galaxy Man's appearance is similar to Astro Man.
  • In Galaxy Man's mugshot and sprite picture, his eyes are green, but in his artwork, his eyes are red.
  • Proto Man can see Galaxy Man as a UFO at the end credits picture.
  • Galaxy Man's flying technique is similar to Bender's from Futurama. In the ending of the episode "All Roswell That Ends Well", Bender can fly like an UFO due to his body being rebuilt by the Area 51 guards who thought Bender's body was a UFO.
  • Unlike many Robot Masters, Galaxy Man has a more robotic appearance.
  • Galaxy Man is sometimes called Rave Man by fans, due to his flashing colors.
