Flash Bomb (フラッシュボム Furasshu Bomu?) is Grenade Man's Special Weapon from Mega Man 8. When equipped, Mega Man fires out a bomb, which upon hitting a wall or an enemy, will cause it to explode, which stays on the screen for a while, causing multiple hits. Aside from being used as a weapon, Flash Bombs produce light from the explosions they cause, which can be helpful with navigating though the dark area in Sword Man's stage. Up to two Flash Bombs can be fired at a time.
Flash Bomb is Frost Man's weakness. Hitting him with a Flash Bomb under normal circumstances will not trigger any weakness reaction, however, if the player fires one as Frost Man stops to raise his arms as he begins to charge up his Ice Wave, the explosion will knock him back and be stunned for a few moments. It is also worth noting that while Flame Sword inflicts that same amount of damage against Frost Man, is it incapable of inflicting multiple hits and stunning him like Flash Bombs do.
It also appears in Mega Man 9, where Mega Man is equipped with it in the scenes shown by Rush in the ending.
