Flame Stag, known in Japan as Flame Stagger (フレイム・スタッガー, Flame Stagger^?), is one of the Mavericks of Mega Man X2 who is based off a deer. Flame Stag leaps about in his chamber (which, together with Morph Moth's post-metamorphosis boss room, is perhaps the first boss room that is larger vertically than horizontally), trying to charge into you and throwing fireballs from his Speed Burner. Being a Fire Maverick, he's naturally weak against water, so use Bubble Splash if you have it. In fact, with proper use and timing, you can trap him in a sort of pattern.

In Mega Man Xtreme, he replaces Flame Mammoth in the respect that he is the Fire Maverick to fall to Storm Tornado.

He also appears in the Boss Attack mode from Mega Man Xtreme 2.

In Rockman X Mega Mission and Rockman Remix, he is revived by Dr. Doppler as "Flame Stagger L".
