Fire Man Stage (ファイヤーマンステージ) is a fire-themed stage that has Fire Man as its boss. It appeared in the first Mega Man game, its remake Mega Man Powered Up, and Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge.

Appearances[]

Mega Man[]

Fire Man's Stage takes place inside of what appears to be a steel foundry's smelting core. This stage has a lot of fire-related gimmicks moreso than enemies, which gives the stage a bigger focus on timing to avoid the obstacles. The first and most common of these is a block that unleashes a tall flame upwards within periodic intervals. This flame can actually be frozen with Ice Slasher, in which case it becomes a temporary platform. The other traps are unique to this stage. The second trap is a block that instead shoots fire horizontally, which is also periodical but always has a small flame at the nozzle which can still hurt the player. There are only 3 of these variants in the stage and they all appear together. The third trap is exclusive to one room near the end. Waves of fire will rush past a curving tunnel, and pixel-perfect timing is required to walk through it twice without getting hurt. (Magnet Beam can skip the entire gimmick). Lastly, the bottomless pits have magma, but this is purely aesthetic.

Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge[]

Fire Man's stage in the Game Boy game also appears to take place inside a steel foundry's smelting core. The vertical flames return here, four of them this time, and are unique to this stage. They can still be frozen using Ice Slasher, with this actually being required to access a large Life Recovery, the only pickup in the stage. Lava returns here and is unique to this stage, though here it can be stood on during the invencibility period if knocked into it. There are also seven Changkey dispensers that simply drop the enemies straight down and are unique to this stage. The Changkeys themselves are also invincible to all attacks except Ice Slasher. Lastly, there are two rooms near the end that feature a unique burner, which releases a very small ember that goes from left to right across the entire burner (can also be frozen with Ice Slasher). Tight jumps are required to avoid the first one when coming in from the right, but the second one is much easier as it is approached from the left.
