Model L (モデルL, Moderu Eru) is a Biometal from the Mega Man ZX series containing the essence of Fairy Leviathan. Model L's Chosen One can Megamerge with it to become the Ice Mega Man.

Design

Biometal Model L's shape resembles the pointed head of Leviathan's Frost Javelin. It has a rhombus shape with a blue, sky blue, and white color scheme, including yellow to distinguish it from Model X.

When Megamerged alone, the user gains bright blue armor. The helmet and boots feature fins on the side and a large booster resembling a ponytail. When Double Megamerged with Model X, the helmet gains twin dorsal fin engines on either side with an additional one behind the helmet. Uniquely, the greaves gain a second lighter color.

Model L itself has a calm but playful personality, curious to face Serpent after hearing he overpowered Model Z. It was also quite annoyed at being placed inside Pseudoroids, describing their bodies as "awful" and complaining about Leganchor's elderly personality.

History

Mega Man ZX

After Serpent betrayed the Guardians and seized Model W, the first commander of the Guardians created Model L along with five other Biometals to counter the threat. Eventually, Model L was stolen by Serpent and split into two halves to power the Pseudoroids Lurerre the Abysroid and Leganchor the Gelroid. They protected the data on Serpent's past in marine environments, all while concealing Model L itself in the process. After being acquired by Vent/Aile, Model L can merge with Model X to become Model LX.

Model L's password to open Area M is Glacius Passio, a mistranslation of 'Glacious Passio' which is Latin for 'Icy Passion', as in romantic passion, or 'Endurance of Ice.' This likely refers to Leviathan's affinity for ice, as well as her flirtatious nature in the former translation, or her slightly stubborn nature in the latter translation.

Mega Man ZX Advent

Shortly before the story, Model L and the other Biometals were stolen from a Guardian lab by Master Albert's agents. Prometheus and Pandora then delivered Model L to a new Chosen One by the name of Thetis, recruiting him into the Game of Destiny. Upon defeating Thetis, Grey/Ashe absorbs his DNA data and Model A gains the ability to copy his Megamerged form wielding Model L. When copying Thetis, Grey can summon an ice dragon while Ashe can generate a spiky ice chunk.

When Thetis and the enemy Mega Men appear in Ouroboros, Model Z immobilizes them in order to let Grey/Ashe continue to Albert's throne room. Thetis and Model L go missing in the aftermath, but appear Megamerged at Master Thomas' side in the secret ending.

Model L grants the user the element of ice, and equips them with a collapsible halberd. This halberd can be charged to create ice constructs such as platforms, spike balls, and even dragons. The user can swim and dash freely through the water, with more control than any other transformation in the series. They also gain an Item Scanner that leads them towards pickups and upgrades. Unique to Model LX is the Overdrive, which enhances their ice powers.

	Overdrive	X	By activating Overdrive, Model LX deals double damage and inflicts ice element, freezing certain enemies and dealing extra damage to electric bosses. However, activating Overdrive against fire elemental enemies negates damage. Overdrive depletes one BM gauge bar upon activation, and continuously drains the BM gauge every second until it's deactivated.
	Item Scanner	Model L(X)'s touch screen feature displays a rudimentary map of the area. A Cyber-Elf cursor follows the player's indicator, pointing out nearby items and pickups to reveal their location.

Trivia

• There appears to be a minor glitch that turns Vent and Aile's eye colors to blue in their dialog portrait whilst using Model LX, hinting that in earlier stages that the user's eyes would change eye color according to the Biometal being used.
• Model L is the only form apart from Model H capable of reaching the ladder leading to Area O thanks to its ice platform ability.
