"Are the other investigators useless fleas? That's the only explanation as to why I have to clean up their messes... But wait... Why are you here anyway? Don't tell me you destroyed my sweet Illumina... Maverick! I haven't even tested her! And I was thinking that I'll destroy all the thick-headed so-called "authorities" with her...! You will die!!"
―Infinity Mijinion, Mega Man X6

Infinity Mijinion (インフィニティー・ミジニオン Infinitī Mijinion) is a water flea-based Reploid created by Gate to test pilot large manned weaponry. He was later resurrected by Gate to serve as one of his Nightmare Investigators after his demise, after which Gate placed him in charge of the Weapon Center.

Characteristics[]

Infinity Mijinion's design is loosely based on a water flea or daphnia. Infinity Mijinion has a fittingly small body with a round torso, a tail, and a small head featuring a snout-like structure. Large portions of his body, such as his legs, arms, and belly, are transparent and filled with a gelatinous green substance similar to the body of Double.

Though bright, Infinity Mijinion was very rude, egotistical, stubborn, temperamental and haphazard. He loved testing powerful weaponry but was never concerned with the safety of others. Even Gate couldn't restrain Infinity Mijinion's self-serving ambitions. Mijinion was also angered by the destruction of Illumina, which he didn't get a chance to test. Mijinion wished to use it to destroy all those he considered as "idiots" who had slighted him. Mijinion showed some loyalty to Gate, despite disobeying Gate's requests to tone down his dangerous experiments. In his original Japanese dialogue with Zero, Mijinion wants to destroy him because he will win praise from Gate for it, as well as getting revenge for the destruction of Illumina.

History[]

Mega Man X6[]

Mijinion was a Reploid created by Gate to act as a test pilot for large manned weapons. The photoconductive material built into his body allowed him to analyze and process information and machinery with incredible speed and accuracy, equal to that of several super computers.[1] He had a high success rate, and produced many excellent results. However, Mijinion was often arrogant and hasty, and would completely ignore the testing program, which put many of his associates in peril. Not even Gate was able to rein in these impulses. Eventually, Mijinion was killed in a sabotaged test that was made to look like an accident.

During the Nightmare Incident, Mijinion was resurrected by Gate as one of his Nightmare Investigators and sent to a Weapon Center. Once there, Mijinion immediately began constructing a giant battle Reploid called Illumina, which was soon hijacked by the Nightmare. The Maverick Hunters decided to investigate this occurrence themselves, destroying Illumina before proceeding to retire Mijinion himself.

Strategy[]

Infinity Mijinion hovers around the room. When struck with the Z-Saber, a Guard Shell counter shot, or whenever he loses 1/4 health, Mijinion is flung backwards and leaves a clone in his place that attacks using Luciferase. There can only be a maximum of six clones at a time. The clones can be destroyed. Conversely, when Mijinion is hit with uncharged attacks, he absorbs energy until he releases it as a spread-shot volley that can regenerate his health.

Infinity Mijinion's main weakness is Guard Shell, which counters most of his projectiles. When struck by a Guard Shell shot, Mijinion leaves harmless green energy with extends into a horizontal Wire Hook line after the player strikes it. The Ultimate Armor's Nova Strike and Zero's Ensuizan are useful for clearing out Mijinion's clones and bubbles. Mijinion also takes increased damage from the Z-Buster.

MMX6 InfinityMijinion Luciferase Luciferase (ルシフェラーゼ Rushiferāze)[2]
Infinity Mijinion releases three to eight bubbles (depending on boss level) that drift towards the player. His clones will also use this attack. The bubbles can be destroyed by the player, and will disappear like common enemies if they are off-screen.
Damage: 3:4:5
MMX6 InfinityMijinion RayArrow Ray Arrow (アローレイ Arō Rei, "Arrow Ray")[2]
Mijinion fires a slow, horizontal laser shot. It changes direction vertically after the player if they move below or above it. When Mijinion's health is lower, the speed of the shot is faster.
Damage: 3:4:5
MMX6 InfinityMijinion GigaRayArrow Giga Ray Arrow (ギガ・アローレイ Giga Arō Rei, " Giga Arrow Ray")[2]
Mijinion teleports to the center of the screen, then stabs his tail into the floor. This releases two orbs across the floor, followed by a rain of lasers from the sky. The orbs can be reflected by Guard Shell.
Damage: 4:6:7 (orbs), 6:8:10 (lasers)
MMX6 InfinityMijinion ChargeAttack Charge Attack (チャージアタック Chāji Atakku)[2]
Every time Mijinion is hit by an uncharged X-Buster shot, he absorbs energy that lets him fire a spread of eight blasts. If he absorbs six shots, he pauses to recover health before firing six spread blasts in a row. Additionally, he may perform this attack by itself, chasing the player slightly before making three spread blasts after a short interval each. In Xtreme Mode, this is increased to four spread blasts instead.
Damage: 4:6:7

X: Infinity Mijinion! You are one of the investigators of the Nightmares, aren't you?
Infinity Mijinion: You seem to be hard to deal with... Why must I cover up for the lack in ability of the other investigators? Hmm? How did you come this far? Don't say you destroyed my sweet Illumina...

Zero: What do you think...

Infinity Mijinion: Maverick! I haven't even tested her! And I was thinking that I'll destroy all the thick-headed so-called "authorities" with her...! You will die!!
