"Heya folks, Skybane here! In honor of the 5th anniversary of Legends 3's cancellation, we at Get Me Off The Moon are proud to present a documentary on the story of Mega Man Legends 3's development!! This was actually a project that we had been working on for far longer than our two new MML3 support campaigns. It was quite an ambitious undertaking, as we had to gather together a ton of sources from a project that had been canned five years ago. Fortunately, we still had access to the ultimate information archive for Legends 3's development: the MML3 Devroom. Believe it or not, even after 5 years, the Devroom blog and forum are still publicly available on Capcom-Unity for anyone to view. Not one official post has been touched. This made collecting/verifying info about the project's development much easier for us, as almost everything we wanted to know was already in one place. Still, that "one place" was pretty big and we still had to do quite a lot of digging. While it's true that MML3 was only in development for about 8 months, the dev team shared a ton of content from the game during that time. We had over 280 blog posts to go through! That said, while this documentary did take a while to put together, we're really pleased with how it turned out! We think it manages to communicate the story of Legends 3 in a very clear, comprehensive, and accurate manner. For me, personally, I'm very happy that we now have a detailed account of the Legends 3 scenario to use as a future reference. There are a lot of people in and outside of the Mega Man fanbase that really don't know a whole lot of the facts behind Legends 3's development, and as a result, they can't fully understand why the game's cancellation crushed fans so thoroughly. I'm really hoping that this documentary will serve to enlighten these kinds of people, and show them why fans are still pining for this sequel five years later. Of course, given just how extensive the story of Legends 3 is, I think that even some of the more dedicated Legends fans will be able to learn new things from this video. As a result, I hope that everyone will give it a watch!
