Man, they were really getting crazy in MM5. We've got a stage and a boss fight where the gravity turns on and off, and the very first Mega Man that has a section of a stage where you're riding a vehicle, namely a jet ski kind of thing.
Oh hey, am I the only one kind of disturbed by Napalm Man? The dude lives in the jungle in a bunker with tanks parked inside. The only thing keeping Napalm Man from being completely offensive is the lack of a Cambodian village in the background.
Oddly enough, this game actually removed a couple of the advancements that MM4 implemented really well: multiple level paths and hidden items. It does have an optional weapon that you can get by collecting a letter in each stage, altogether spelling MEGAMANV, but I prefer how they did it in MM4.
Then weapon itself is called Beat. It's an adorable little robot bird that flutters around your head, killing everything it sees. It comes in very handy on a couple of the later boss fights.
