I always expect the best from fire-themed stages, and with this stage, Capcom doesn't fail to disappoint. My favorite stage, music (stage-wise), and boss in X8.
I thought the battle with Burn Rooster went pretty well. X's down to the last HP, Rooster with a fair amount of HP left, seems epic enough ;)
Burn Rooster is no pushover. He's the only boss with a regnerating shield. If you notice in the video, sometimes Burn Rooster does not receive any damage when he is shot with a fully charged buster or hit with the last slash in Zero's combo. His attacks:
Burn Rooster will do some sort of backflip before he performs a downwards kick. This will either be directed towards you or else set at a specific angle. If the latter occurs, he will bounce off the walls until he reaches the ground.
Burn Rooster will perform a heel drop, sending out a stream of fire across the entire ground. This line of fire extends over lower grounds. Best to stay on the higher levels or on the walls.
Burn Rooster will cock his head, indicating that he's going to release his comb and use it as a projectile. This comb travels to your current position and spins around at a decent radius. While this is happening, Burn Rooster may choose to perform the downwards kick.
After being shot, Burn Rooster may decide to jump at you.
Burn Rooster specializes in controlling the battlefield. Thus he will momentarily fly into the background and power up, causing the platforms or w/e to move.
Also, He will start to use his breath of fire attack which has a decent range. Of course, the walls of these platforms serve as an obstacle to this attack.
Burn Rooster will breathe fire onto the two outer platforms, making the walls unusable and the battle area much smaller. Dodging all of his attacks just got twice as hard (perhaps even more).
The platforms will also move in different formations.
