This article is about the NetNavi FlameMan.EXE. For his Robot Master counterpart, see Flame Man. For his Zoanoroid counterpart, see Zoano FlameMan.EXE.

FlameMan.EXE (フレイムマン Fureimuman), known as FlamMan in Mega Man Battle Network 3, is a NetNavi from the Mega Man Battle Network series. He is Mr. Match's third NetNavi, and boasts of having the most firepower among them all[1]. FlameMan can't speak full sentences and has low intelligence, but he has enough firepower to incinerate 3 Navis at once and turn them to ash[2].

Appearance[]

X8NavigatorAlertIconEdit This section requires expansion.

FlameMan has a design different from his original counterpart. He has a red face with a puppet-like mouth and deep red eyes, a dark body with holes that ignites his body on fire, black limbs with tan discs on them, red hands and red feet with metal plates on front. FlameMan.EXE is shown walking on all four of his limbs in his official artwork.

Navi Mark[]

FlameMan has the same Navi Mark as FireMan's except it has an orange fireball on a black background.

History[]

Mega Man Battle Network 3[]

FlameMan first appears to help delete a group of Heel Navis attacking SciLab, though they are later revealed to have been working for him. Later, after Mr. Match tricks Lan into sabotaging SciLab's computers, MegaMan chases FlameMan to Undernet 3 after being provoked by Mr. Match. They battle and FlameMan seemingly has the advantage, but Bass appears and deletes him despite him being an ally. He appears again in the WWW Comp 3 and the player has to fight him and PlantMan one right after the other. FlameMan performs Full Synchro with Mr. Match to reach his Beta version, but is still defeated. FlameMan doesn't speak; he communicates with roars instead.

Locations[]

Located in the Undernet 3, and again in WWW Comp 3.
  • FlameMan Alpha (FlamManα), known as FlameMan V2 (フレイムマンV2) in Japan, 1400 HP:

  • FlameMan Beta (FlamManβ), known as FlameMan V3 (フレイムマンV3) in Japan, 1800 HP:

  • FlameMan Omega (FlamManΩ), known as FlameMan SP (フレイムマンSP) in Japan, 2400 HP:
Undernet 3, near a torch where the original was in the North-West corner, after obtaining 5 stars and unlocking the Omega Navis. *Tip: Set Area Grab as MegaMan's regular chip. Then use a lot of MetaGels to steal more squares, while doing 2x aqua damage to him. Close range chips like swords also work well. Try using Boomers to clear out both flames at once.

Zoano FlameMan in the anime.

In the anime, FlameMan appears as a Zoanoroid of the Glaga's Army with no relation to Hinoken and his Navis. He inhabits the sunken warship, Onibi. He frequently resurfaces the ship by absorbing energy from the nearby town. After he fully resurrects the ship, he uses the ship's cannons to destroy an abandoned island, a Copyroid factory controlled by the Falzer's Army, before aiming the cannons at Netto and co. FlameMan is defeated by them at the end of the episode. The Foghorn that Calls the Phantom

Abilities[]

FlameMan

FlameMan's Navi Mark

  • Fire Breath (ファイアブレス Faia Buresu): FlameMan breathes fire down his row.
    • He can do a stronger version where he breaths fire at the player, first hitting the panel immediately ahead of him, then a WideSword-esque manner in the next columns.

Mega Man Battle Network 3[]

  • "Candle":
FlameMan possesses two candles at the back corners of his area. They grant him a special ability depending on the color of their flame. They start off green, and shooting the candles will put them out for a while, before they reignite with a random color. Candle effects stack, e.g., if one candle is red and the other green, FlameMan will be invincible and regenerate HP.
    • Green: Both candles start this color. FlameMan is invulnerable until both are put out.
    • Yellow: Chaos Flame (カオスフレイム Kaosu Fureimu) will circle MegaMan's initial 3x3 area, making only the center square safe.
    • Red: FlameMan's HP will slowly regenerate.

Trivia[]

  • FlameMan's Navi Mark has the same design as those of FireMan and HeatMan, with the only exception being the background color of the mark (FlameMan's is black, whereas FireMan's and HeatMan's are orange and red, respectively). This is most likely due to the fact that all three Navis were owned and operated by Mr. Match, who can be seen wearing a similar mark in the first game.
  • Although his flames in both artwork and overworld sprites are a orange/yellow-ish color, they can never be seen as such in-battle; his colors change to either green or red depending on the current Flame Candle effect, its yellow color not affecting him. When using his battle chip, he shows a green color like the invincible mode he starts the battle with.
  • FlameMan is the only WWW Navi from MegaMan Battle Network 3 not to have a Darkloid nor a Asteroid counterpart in the MegaMan NT Warrior series while he does have a Zoanoroid counterpart in Rockman EXE Beast.
  • In the Early Drafts from Mega Man Battle Network Official Complete Works, there are five early designs for FlameMan, one of which resembles closer to the design of his classic counterpart.
