This article is about the NetNavi KnightMan.EXE. For his anime counterpart, see KnightMan.EXE (anime). For his Robot Master counterpart, see Knight Man.
"It was an honor, even in defeat."
―KnightMan.EXE, Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge

KnightMan.EXE (ナイトマン.EXE[3] Naitoman Eguze) is a loyal NetNavi from the Mega Man Battle Network series with high defense. His operator is Princess Pride. He is kind-hearted and fearless just like a heroic knight would be and has good manners, addressing Pride as "Ma'am" and Lan as "M'lord" or "sir".

Appearance[]

X8NavigatorAlertIconEdit This section requires expansion.

KnightMan has very few similarities to his Robot Master Counterpart. He is mostly purple in color compared to the original, and also lacks his shield. His face is obscured by a mask and has purely yellow or orange eyes with no pupils. He is also much larger and bulkier compared to the original Knight Man.

KnightMan's Navi Mark is a red cross on a white-black checker background.

History[]

Mega Man Battle Network 2[]

KnightMan is ordered by his operator, who is a Gospel spy, to delete the ONBA's information on Gospel's plans, and kill the members of the ONBA. He is hesitant about these orders, due to his noble nature. MegaMan jacks into the castle's computer system and has to fight him to shut down the traps. MegaMan even questions him about these actions, which he shows his hesitation and reluctance to do so, but follows Princess Pride's orders regardless. He later reappears at the Gospel base with MagnetMan and FreezeMan to keep MegaMan from advancing, but is defeated again.

Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge[]

KnightMan is one of the participants in the Battle Chip GP, and is first encountered by the player in the seventh round of the Master Class. He later appears in the thirteenth round of the Chaos Class. He is also encountered as the 25th battle in the Netopia-area Open Battle, where he can be defeated for his NaviChip.

Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel[]

Princess Pride is attempting to harvest an ore known as MagnoMetal from Oran Island, but KnightMan becomes insane from the metal and the drill goes out of control, creating earthquakes on the island. MegaMan has to go into the drills, shut them down and defeat KnightMan. After this incident, KnightMan joins Team Colonel, and provides MegaMan with his first Double Soul of the game.

At one point, he and Princess Pride are victims of SoulNet's effect, going on a rampage. MegaMan is forced to battle him to calm him down enough to destroy the Server in the cyberspace he is fought in. When the Server is destroyed, KnightMan and Pride return to normal.

In the Factory Comp 1, KnightMan is the first victim of the Dark Galaxy, sacrificing himself to give MegaMan a chance to escape, much to Pride's dismay and horror. He later reappears to keep the Darkloids from blocking MegaMan from getting to Nebula Gray. He then finally sends his power to MegaMan to ultimately destroy Nebula Gray once and for all.

Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation[]

KnightManPETMenuEXE45

KnightMan in the PET.

KnightMan is an unlockable (with Battle Chip Gate) playable character. His theme is a remix of his Robot Master's counterpart from Rockman 6: Shijō Saidai no Tatakai!!. He can increase his max HP by challenging specific Navis to an honorable NetBattle and winning them (whithout repeating same Navis) for a 50 HP increase.

He is somewhat difficult to operate him during battles as he jumps to move from panel to panel instead of stepping; however, his jumps will not crack the opponent's panels, unlike KnightMan's boss counterpart. Both of his Special Programs make use of his mace ball. The Royal Wrecking Ball makes KnightMan spin the mace ball around himself, while Kingdom Crusher makes him fire his mace ball down one row at the targeted opponent.

He can destroy the boulders blocking the way at the Internet.

Anime[]

Much like his video game counterpart, KnightMan serves as a noble and valiant NetNavi for Princess Pride, personally vowing to defend and protect both her and Creamland from any and all threats.

Abilities[]

KnightMan

KnightMan's Navi Mark

  • KnightMan has a Stone Body effect when he is not attacking, except in EXE4.5. In Battle Network 2, it reduces the damage done by all attacks to 1. In Mega Man Battle Network 5, it functions like a permanent guard, penetrable only by Breaking attacks.
  • After some times, KnightMan will jump one square forward. In Battle Network 2, it cracks/destroys all of the player's panels. In Mega Man Battle Network 5 and Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation, it only cracks some panels. This also functions as a way to move around the battlefield.
  • Super Armor (スーパーアーマー Sūpā Āmā):
    KnightMan cannot flinch.
  • Broken Wall (ブロークンウォール Burōkun Wōru):
KnightMan fires his mace ball into the sky, causing 3 rocks to fall down on the player. In BN2 his V1 and V2 forms are three rounds in row, while his V3 is one round. This called Block 'n Wall in the Battle Network 5 BradyGames Strategy Guide.
  • Kingdom Crusher (キングダムクラッシャー Kingudamu Kurasshā):
KnightMan fires his mace ball down 1 row at the player. In Battle Network 2, this move doesn't have a name and is just a variant of Royal Wrecking Ball.[4] This is called Royal Wrecking Ball in the EXE 4.5 Official Perfect Guide.
  • Royal Wrecking Ball (ロイヤルレッキングボール Roiyaru Rekkingu Bōru):
If MegaMan is one panel away, KnightMan spins the mace ball around himself. This is called Kingdom Slasher (キングダムスラッシャー Kingudamu Surasshā) in the EXE 4.5 Official Perfect Guide.
  • Panel Grab (パネルスチール Paneru Suchīru, Panel Steal):
If KnightMan is at the front of his area, he will steal one of MegaMan's panels and immediately follow with a leap (has 3 chips in all his forms in BN2).
  • Knight Defense[5] (ナイトディフェンス Naito Difensu): Only in Liberation Mission. If KnightMan is in close proximity with a teammate in the overworld; when a teammate is attacked in the overworld, he will jump in front of them and block the attack, preventing all damage.

Double Soul and Chaos Unison[]

Knight Soul[]

KnightSoul

Knight Soul

  • Breaking chips can be charged for double damage. This is particularly devastating with multi-hitting chips like Air Hockey or Drill Arm.
  • While MegaMan is using a non-dimming chip in the front row, he turns invincible for 1 second.
  • Charge Shot: Royal Wrecking Ball (Hits the 8 panels surrounding MegaMan for 40 Breaking damage, with an additional 10 damage for each increase in Buster Rank. Enemies that are hit are also confused.)
  • Weakness: The Charge Shot lacks range.

Knight Chaos[]

ChaosKnight

Knight Chaos

MegaMan's Charge Shot turns into Dark Drill, which hits the two panels in front of him for 100 damage. Enemies hit by the drill will be pushed backwards, but if they cannot move they remain in contact with the drill and continue taking hits. The drill can inflict up to 5 hits. With an Area Grab or two, one can easily inflict 500 damage or so, and the enemy hasn't flinched, leaving them open to an immediate follow-up attack.

Trivia[]

  • KnightMan is immobile unless he is executing his jump attack. However, in Mega Man Battle Network 5, KnightMan DS would zip all around the battlefield before using a chip and then leap back to his original position.
  • KnightMan's appearance is markedly similar to Klaymoor from Mega Man Legends 2.
