This page is about the NetNavi Glide.EXE. To see information on the Mega Man Legends character of the same name, see Glyde.

Glide.EXE (グライド Guraido), known as Glyde in the first game, is the personal NetNavi of Yai Ayanokoji in the Mega Man Battle Network series.

Appearance[]

X8NavigatorAlertIconEdit This section requires expansion.

Glide is a humanoid NetNavi. He has a black body, a white area on his front torso, white area on each of his legs, a brown helmet, a brown armor, brown hands, and brown boots.

History[]

Overview[]

Glyde

Glide's Navi Mark

Glide is not considered a combat Navi and thus relies on the rare Battle Chips Yai has to provide to perform devastatingly powerful attacks. Glide instead has a level seven security license allowing him to access networks that other Navis would not be able to. His demeanor towards Yai is akin to that of a butler. While he may come off as a bit "snooty" (taking after his operator), he is still good friends with MegaMan, Roll, and GutsMan, just as his operator Yai is good friends with their operators Lan Hikari, Mayl Sakurai, and Dex Oyama.

Abilities[]

Despite appearing in most of the games and participating in the N1 Grand Prix, he is never fought by the player. Nor does he have actual battle sprites. He has been seen using techniques in cutscenes, usually in desperate situations.

In Mega Man Battle Network, when MegaMan is unable to take out a group of flames in WWW Comp1, Yai calls on her Navi. Glide crosses his arms into an X, preparing to attack, then lunges forward spreading his arms. The flames are instantly take out.

In Mega Man Battle Network 2, Glide uses an unnamed gliding dash attack to assault a copy of himself made by the Gospel NetMafia. After deleting it, he floats down from the sky into position with his friends.

In Mega Man Battle Network 4, Glide is seen using a Barrier with Roll and GutsMan to guard MegaMan from a HeelNavi’s explosion attack.

In Mega Man Battle Network 6, right before the final boss, he comes to save Lan from CopyBot Navis. Alongside Roll and GutsMan’s attacks, Glide uses Glide Flash (グライドフラッシュ). The actual attack isn’t shown as it take place during a white fade.

Much like his video game counterpart, Glide serves as the butler-esque Navi for Yai, with the two of them helping Lan, MegaMan, and the rest of their friends out from within their various adventures.

Unlike the games however, Glide actively fights, with his primary attack being the gold-colored Glide Cannon.
