CanGuard, known as CannoGuard (キャノガード Kyanogādo) in Japan, is a virus in the Mega Man Battle Network series that appears to be an upgraded version of the Canodumb.
Like their predecessors, CanGuards send out a target reticule when a NetNavi is standing on the same row they are. If the Navi comes in contact with the reticule, the CanGuard will fire onto that panel. All CanGuard variants (except the CanGuard itself) close their shields when they're not aiming, protecting them against all non-Breaking-type attacks. The first time it aims it will go along all the rows but after it fires it will automatically aim on the target.

Battle Chips[]
Mark Cannon (マークキャノン Māku Kyanon) is the Battle Chip family left from deleted CanGuard viruses. It sends out a target reticule that scans three columns directly in front of the user. The target reticule doesn't stop until it searches the entirety of that area, or it targets an enemy. If it targets, the enemy will be stunned and MegaMan will shoot the target, causing damage.

Trivia[]
- The English chip description mentions DoomerEX for some reason, a virus from Mega Man Battle Network 4. This name was not present in the Japanese description. This oddity carried to other languages in MMBN5DS.
