SparkMan.EXE (スパークマン Supākuman) is an Elec-based NetNavi operated by Terry Jomon.


Personality[]

SparkMan has an insidious and cruel personality. Being a sadist, his hobby is to sic his enemies with electricity to the point of torture and deletion[1].

SparkMan seems somewhat similar to his Robot Master counterpart. He has a black body, orange head that seemingly connected to his torso, a orange-yellow torso, orange arms, and orange feet.

His Navi mark has a gray surrounding and represents a two yellow crossing spikes in a blue cross on black background.

History[]

Mega Man Battle Network 4[]

SparkMan appears randomly in The Den Battle/City Battle Tournament. His operator cheats to win by changing Lan's Folder in his PET to one with weak Battle Chips. But Lan fixes the problem with the help of Jomon's grandfather, the chief of JomonElec, who needs a 7 digit code. Later, SparkMan battles MegaMan in the Tournament, but loses. Afterwards, he and Terry get into a fight, blaming each other for the loss.

    Random encounter in ACDC Area 3 after defeating SparkMan (Game 1) or SparkManα (Game 2) or SparkManβ (Game 3+) in the same area.

Anime[]

SparkMan has three different counterparts in the anime. The first is a Darkloid who serves under ShadeMan (and later LaserMan). The second is an Asteroid. The third is a Zoanoroid who serves as a follower of Falzer at first, but is later converted into a Glaga follower by Zoano PharaohMan.

SparkMan is hard to hit, as he continuously disappears and reappears around the field, attacking as he goes.

  • Spark Ball (スパークボール Supāku Bōru),
    20/40/80/100 BC Element Elec Elec damage:
    SparkMan sends out a bomb that moves down the row, exploding in a diagonal fashion.
  • Spark Wave (スパークウェーブ Supāku Wēbu),
    20/40/80/100 BC Element Elec Elec damage:
    SparkMan sends electricity down and up the columns, moving to a new row when the sparks hit all the panels on a column.
  • Shadowmaker [3], known as Make Shadow (メイクシャドー Meiku Shadō) in Japan,
    20/40/80/100 BC Element Null None damage:
    SparkMan creates a flash, then MegaMan's shadow (or shadow of the player's Navi in EXE4.5) appears behind him to strike with a sword.

  • Apparently Keiji Inafune's son praised Yuji Ishihara on this SparkMan design[4]. Ishihara suspects this influenced the team being told to make more bulky armored characters than thinner ones that looks like they're wearing full-body leotard[5].
  • Glittering Spark

    Glittering Spark

    In the game Mega Man X DiVE, the weapon Glittering Spark, known as Teruo Spark (テルオスパーク Teruo Supāku) in Japan, is based on SparkMan's arm. Its Japanese name is probably derived from Terry Jomon's Japanese name "Teruo Jomon" and "SparkMan".
