JunkMan.EXE (ジャンクマン.EXE[3] Jankuman Eguze) is a solo NetNavi miraculously born from junk data in YumLand's Internet garbage dump. Being born without an operator, he's a Navi with a strong sense of loneliness. Due to his isolation, he doesn't know how to express himself, resulting in him using rough words and actions towards others[4].


Appearance[]

JunkMan.EXE looks very different from his Robot Master counterpart, with dreadlock hair made of cables. He has a pincer on each arm and has no legs.

History[]

Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon[]

He first appears as Lan Hikari's opponent in the Blue Moon Tournament. While MegaMan is in YumLand, a large pile of junk drops on him in the Net. Lan tries to jack him out and although it doesn't look like it, he seemed to have escaped. However, MegaMan acts strangely, saying that he wants to withdraw from the tournament; it is soon revealed that he is JunkMan in disguise. Lan makes JunkMan return to the junk pile to save MegaMan (having to operate him as MegaMan but starting battles confused). JunkMan reveals the junk site is the place he was born. After leaving, Lan and MegaMan wonder why JunkMan was so alone, and they get a Kindness data to try and cheer him up.

In the tournament, they offer the data to JunkMan as a gesture of friendship, but he destroys it. They then NetBattle and after being defeated, JunkMan explains the reason for his solitude. He was born out of JunkData and never had a operator. He entered the tournament because he knew he was falling apart and couldn't last any longer. Even as they talk, his data deteriorates. He states that he enjoyed being in Lan Hikari's PET and he was grateful that they had shown such kindness to him; he then erodes away. Lan and MegaMan are touched by JunkMan's story, and MegaMan gains his Double Soul.

JunkMan in the PET.

JunkMan is an unlockable playable character. His theme is a remix of his Robot Master's counterpart's stage from Rockman 7: Shukumei no Taiketsu!. He gains HP by absording Bug Pieces.

Continuing his EXE4 characteristics, JunkMan is in a constantly nervous state with the player, due to his unfamiliarity to having a operator. Although he is very grateful to having one.

JunkDataMan gathers up space junk, satellites, and everything in space except for planets to make his castle. This causes trouble for Yai Ayano, who asks Lan Hikari and Maylu Sakurai to help her. Upon having Glide, MegaMan and Roll meet him, they battle but decide that JunkDataMan didn't need to be deleted, because he did not know what he was doing. They simply taught him which pieces of junk he should collect and which ones he shouldn't. Then the gang leave space with JunkDataMan as their friend.

JunkDataMan appears once more when SciLab attempts to destroy Dr. Regal's space station with their attack satellites, but all are destroyed. JunkDataMan's space station was also damaged in the attack. He then helps Lan and MegaMan find and board Regal's station and gives MegaMan Junk Soul.

JunkDataMan disappears entirely after Axess, leaving no clue to his whereabouts.

  • Junk Cube (ジャンクキューブ Janku Kyūbu):
    JunkMan throws pieces of junk at the player down all three rows.
  • Bolt Missile (ボルトミサイル Boruto Misairu):
    JunkMan fires several bolts at the player. These move from up and down as they track the player's position.
  • Junk Press (ジャンクプレス Janku Puresu):
    JunkMan's arms smash down the entire row he's on.

Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation[]

  • Buster Junk Cube (バスター・ジャンクキューブ Basutā Janku Kyūbu):
    In addition to JunkMan's Buster that can fire continuously, it has the ability to automatically fire a junk cube that flies forward, regardless of the equipped weapon.
  • Poltergeist (ポルターガイスト Porutāgaisuto):
    If there are any objects on the battlefield, JunkMan raises them up and throws at enemies.

After completing JunkMan's scenario in Blue Moon, MegaMan obtains Junk Soul. Upon unison, it causes confusion to foes, mirroring MegaMan's body when JunkMan possessed it. The Soul also has the unique ability to recycle already used Battle Chip, and in multiplayer battles, even the opponent's chips.

Battle Chips[]

  • The JunkMan (ジャンクマン Jankuman) Battle Chip summons JunkMan that raises objects up (if they are on the battlefield) and throws them at enemies.
  • Panel Shoot 1 (パネルシュート1 Paneru Shūto Wan) lifts the panel in front of the user (creating a hole) and throws it ahead.
  • Panel Shoot 2 (パネルシュート2 Paneru Shūto Tsū) lifts all panels in the row of the user's area (except the one with the user) and throws them. Causes more damage if the user's area is increased.
  • Panel Shoot 3 (パネルシュート3 Paneru Shūto Surī) lifts four panels around the user and throws them. This chip is risky because it leaves the user trapped for some time, unless the holes can be passed or restored.

Panel Shoot chips don't work on panels from the enemy's area.

JunkMan chips can only be obtained in the Blue Moon version. They can be traded with the Red Sun version, where they are Secret Chips.

  • In the Japanese version, JunkMan speaks purely in katakana like Mr. Prog. While this is mostly gone on the English version, he speaks in all capitals like Mr. Prog in Battle Network 4's Operation Battle Mode.
