Tamako Shiraizumi (白泉たま子 Shiraizumi Tamako) is a character from the Mega Man Battle Network series. Her NetNavi is MetalMan.EXE. She wears a metal blade-like hair ornament and enjoys NetBattling. When Tamako was younger she was a sukeban known by the nickname "Black Steel Tamako" (クロガネのたま子 Kurogane no Tamako)[1]. Tamako is Kimie’s younger sister and Mamoru Ura’s aunt.[2]

Appearance[]

Tamako is a slim woman with blueish hair and a long ponytail. She wears a red coat, a white tanktop, green pants, tan sandals, a black-red waistband on each of her wrist and a metal blade-shaped ornament on the right-top side of her head.

Mega Man Battle Network 3[]

Tamako appears as the owner of the gift shop next to Ura Inn in Yoka. She proclaims to be the princess of Ura Inn and challenges people using MetalMan. Tamako participates in the N1 Grand Prix and battles Lan Hikari in his first battle. She loses and falls down a pit which was filled with pillows. She also gives people her shop's P-code as a promotional item.

Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge[]

Tamako participates in the Battle Chip GP.

Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon[]

Tamako participates in the Hawk Tournament. She encounters Lan before their match and declares that she'll win. When Lan challenges that claim, she takes him to a rock and tells him to break it. Lan refuses, saying that it was impossible. Tamako says she could break it and punched the rock. It turns out she couldn't break it and hurt her hand pretty badly. But, she says that the fact that she tried meant that she had more will than Lan. She told him to go to a Navi that would teach MegaMan.EXE how to break Cyber rocks. Tamako gives him a gatecode that will open in Town 4. After his lesson, Tamako and Lan NetBattle in the Hawk Tournament. She loses, but uses it as an opportunity to advertise Ura Inn and the gift shop.

Anime[]

Tamako servers a minor role in MegaMan NT Warrior Axess as an obsessed rival of Lan. She and HeavyMetalMan help Lan defeat SavageMan. She later makes two cameos in Rockman.EXE Beast+.

Other appearances[]

Tamako has a cameo appearance in the MegaMan NT Warrior manga as one of Mr. Famous' students. She also appears in the manga Battle Story Rockman.EXE.

Etymology[]

Her first name "Tamako" (たま子) contains the kanji "子" (Ko), a Japanese name suffix often used in many female given names.

Her last name "Shiraizumi" (白泉) roughly means "White Spring" in Japanese.
