Espio the Chameleon is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Universe series. A chameleon, he is a member of the private investigative agency Chaotix.

Worlds Collide

Espio, alongside team members Vector the Crocodile and Charmy Bee, were tasked by Sonic the Hedgehog to investigate the disappearances of Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Amy Rose, and Shadow the Hedgehog. However, as they were investigating, they ended up captured by Copy Robot via a teleportation beam. Espio was then transformed into the Roboticized Master Espio Man by Dr. Wily and Dr. Eggman. His special ability was Chroma Camo. Shortly after the Genesis Unit and Copy Robot were defeated by Sonic, Proto Man, Mega Man, Rush, and Tails, Espio Man, alongside Vector Man and Charmy Man, were dispatched by the two doctors to fight them. After Charmy Man and Vector Man had been defeated, Espio Man camouflaged himself in an attempt to sneak attack Mega Man from behind, although Sonic managed to subdue him before he could act on the opportunity, after Rush detected the Roboticized Master with his smell. Upon being restored to his true form, Espio, out of a life debt, supplied Mega Man with the orb containing Espio Man's Chroma Camo ability.

He alongside the rest of his Chaotix group members and Proto Man tried to crack the passcode to the Wily Egg's teleporter room, but were ultimately unable to crack it before all Roboticized Masters save for the newly created Rouge Woman were restored to their original selves, and proceeded to fight several time-cloned Robot Masters with Rouge Woman leading the Robot Masters. During the Robot Master battle, Espio entered into a private (and likely obligatory) ninja duel with the original Shadow Man.
