Douglas (ダグラス Dagurasu) is an engineer/mechanic Reploid for the Maverick Hunters, appearing in Mega Man X5 and Mega Man X6.

Characteristics[]

Douglas is a male Reploid in green and brown armor. His helmet has red goggles and a chinstrap. He has a utility belt around his waist and a canister on his back. He stands taller than X and Zero, but shorter than Signas.

Douglas is a mechanic, and a very skilled one. He is very kind and optimistic, but not naive. When situations confront him, he shows confidence in the best-case scenario, but when things go wrong he's not blind to them.

History[]

Mega Man X5[]

During the Earth Crisis, Douglas is the head of the restoration projects for Enigma and the Space Shuttle. Besides this, he manages the Armor Parts and Power-Up Parts the player obtains throughout the game.

In the non-canon bad ending, Douglas speaks with Alia and Signas about X's mysterious amnesia regarding Zero.

Mega Man X6[]

During the Nightmare incident, Douglas again helped X and Zero by managing the Power-Up Parts they retrieve from Injured Reploids. He appears in X's ending, promising with the other Maverick Hunters to work towards building a utopia.

Douglas has not appeared in any further installments, as his duty to manage Power-Up Parts is fulfilled by Alia in Mega Man X7 and by Pallette in Mega Man X8.

Developer comments
On top of having parts and weapons, we absolutely had to have a mechanic! And so we set up Douglas. Mind, he doesn't show up that much in the first half of the game... (sweat)

Designer comments
Since he's a mechanic, I tried bringing out an on-the-scene mood in him by making him all arms(?), giving him a hat-like helmet and goggles, etc.[3][4]
