Diadrake, known (roughly) as "Admarat" (アドマレイト Adomareito) in Japan, is an enemy Mechaniloid fought in Mega Man ZX. It appears as one of the mid-bosses of Area I, a confinement center where Hurricaune the Wolveroid terrifies the captives. Diadrake originally belonged to a wealthy individual, but was infected with a virus several days after purchase, which made it act strangely. It was disposed of soon after. It is equipped with a dispersion laser in its mouth.

Attacks[]

  • Sky Dive (スカイ・ダイブ) - Diadrake ascends to the top of the screen, and then drops downwards to the opposite bottom corner of the battle field in an attempt to pounce on the Mega Man, regardless of if it succeeds or not, Diadrake ascends upwards offscreen.
  • Sky Love (スカイ・ラヴ) - Diadrake descends and dashes forwards. As Diadrake reaches the opposite end of the screen (and goes offscreen), it ascends a bit.
  • Shout Wave (シャウト・ウェイブ) - Diadrake shoots three blue crescent shaped beams from a low position, when they reach the end of the screen, the beams turn purple and split into two crescent projectiles that move diagonally in the opposite direction. The crescents that hit the floor will ricochet before dispersing.
  • Panic Rave (パニック・レイブ) - Diadrake shoots 3 blue laser beams that are either thin or thick. The thin ones just move straight forward while the thick ones split into three thin shots that move in a spread formation. Diadrake will do this attack up to three times in a row, at the top, middle, and bottom of the screen.

Other appearances[]

Diadrake appeared as Battle Memory in Rockman Xover.

Etymology[]

Its Japanese name is probably a combination of adamant (アダマインタイン, which is also known as adamantine and other names) and drake (ドレイク, an archaic word for dragon). Its English name is probably a combination of diamond and drake.
