Axl Bullets[]

Main article: Axl Bullets

The Axl Bullets (アクセルバレット) is Axl's standard weapon. It is a pistol capable of rapid-fire shots. It can be aimed up, down, and at any angle. While Axl normally wields one at a time, he dual-wields Axl Bullets during Double Attacks in Mega Man X8 and all throughout Mega Man X: Command Mission.

Mega Man X7[]

The Double Bullet (ダブルバレット Daburu Baretto) is a pair of handguns obtained by defeating Flame Hyenard in Mega Man X7. Axl must equip them to use Circle Blaze. When equipped, Axl can Lock-on and attack two different targets at once. The weapon itself doesn't appear in Mega Man X8, but its design is reused for the Bound Blaster.

The G-Launcher (Gランチャー G Ranchā) is a hefty rifle obtained by defeating Vanishing Gungaroo in Mega Man X7. Axl must equip it to use Explosion. It shoots powerful energy bursts, but lacks rapid-fire and cannot be aimed as far up or down. The weapon itself doesn't appear in Mega Man X8, but its design is reused for the Blast Launcher.

The Ray Gun (レイガン Rei Gan) is a laser blaster obtained by defeating Tornado Tonion in Mega Man X7. Axl must equip it to use Volt Tornado. It shoots laser beams that are longer and more powerful, but slightly slower. It reappears in Mega Man X8 as the weapon gained by defeating Optic Sunflower.

Special Weapons[]

Mega Man X7[]

Axl and X have the same Special Weapons, but to use them Axl must equip the correct firearm first. Wielding a firearm gives Axl slightly more range than X's X-Buster due to the projectiles coming from the tip, but he cannot perform Charge Shots.

Copy Shot/A-Trans[]

Copy Shot (コピーショット) is an attack from the Axl Bullet that allows him to use A-Trans. In Mega Man X7 it has a short charge time before firing, though this was removed and the size of the shot was reduced in Mega Man X8. If Axl destroys an enemy of his own size with a Copy Shot, they leave behind a DNA core that he can absorb to temporarily imitate their appearance and powers. In Mega Man X7, Axl is also able to harvest DNA cores from enemies much smaller than himself; instead of transforming, he temporarily gains a special enhancement.

Mega Man X: Command Mission[]

A-Trans is used in Axl's Action Trigger, DNA Change, which allows him to copy defeated bosses to perform a single attack. The form Axl takes depends on the combination of buttons pressed during Action Trigger. The more Weapon Energy Axl has, the more time he has to finish a command, but if he fails to complete any of them, he instead performs Rolling Axl to deal 30% damage. Axl cannot copy Shadow, Botos, Ferham, Scarface, Epsilon, Colonel Redips, and Duckbill Mole.
