"It is through struggle that humans learn discipline and grow! I will be Mega Man King, for the war that never ends!"
―Atlas, Mega Man ZX Advent

Atlas (アトラス Atorasu) is a boss character in Mega Man ZX Advent who is the Biomatch for Biometal Model F. She is one of the four rival Mega Men who seeks to empower Model W to win the Game of Destiny. She is fought at Oil Field.

Appearance[]

Atlas is a young woman with a muscular physique.[1] She has dual-toned spiky hair, the fringe being vibrant orange and the rest being brown. She is characterized by her thick eyebrows and fierce expression. She wears an archetypal Mega Man vest with an orange coloration, white pants with a large belt buckle, and a pair of boxing glove-like gauntlets, unlike the usual yellow cuffs seen worn by others.

Due to Atlas' hairstyle, it is difficult to tell if she is a Humanoid or Reploid (since it covers her forehead where a red Reploid mark might be). However, she speaks frequently about human evolution, implying she is Humanoid.

Personality[]

Atlas has an exceptionally aggressive disposition and values power above everything else. Having previously fought as a soldier in a nation ravaged by Mavericks, she developed the belief that human beings can only evolve during times of war and spurns peace. She has little tolerance for ignorance or weakness, as Grey/Ashe's ignorance to the Game of Destiny annoys her. She believes in survival of the fittest is the only justification, and thus plays the Game of Destiny in order to plunge the world into a never-ending state of war to spur on evolution. It is therefore curious that she would cooperate with Mega Man opponents such as Thetis, who wishes for elimination of the human race.

Her aggressive personality is similar to that of Model F's persona, Fighting Fefnir; however, whereas Fefnir merely lived for the thrill of battle, Atlas is motivated by her hatred of weakness. Similar to Fefnir, however, she was impressed by her opponent's skills, as evidenced by the Japanese version where she yells "impressive!" when hit by a strong attack.

History[]

Background[]

In her past, Atlas was a dutiful soldier fighting for her nation. However, disaster struck when Mavericks attacked and laid waste to her home, which led to her developing a "power-is-everything" mentality.[2] She was eventually approached by Prometheus and Pandora with Model F, and chose to join the Game of Destiny to force the world to evolve through everlasting conflict.

Mega Man ZX Advent[]

Atlas first appears with Thetis in the Arctic Ice Floe, showing off their Megamerges. When she learns Grey/Ashe isn't privy to the Game of Destiny, Atlas doesn't take them seriously and instead destroys the ice to plunge them into the freezing lake where Chronoforce the Xiphosuroid awaits.

ZXAFL

Atlas and Thetis meet Mega Man Model A.

Atlas is next encountered in the Oil Fields, hunting the stranded Raiders and planning to feed their souls to Model W. She reveals her desire to use Model W to hasten the evolution of humanity by perpetuating war for eternity, and attacks. After her defeat, she angrily flees, and Model A absorbs her DNA so Grey/Ashe can copy her with A-Trans. This also unlocks the first of Model A's ciphers, explaining the purpose of Model W.

After Grey/Ashe defeats the Pseudoroids in Ouroboros, Atlas appears with the other Mega Men to interrupt their pursuit of Master Albert. Vent/Aile holds them off until Grey/Ashe can defeat Albert, resulting in the fall of Ouroboros. Model Z separates to immobilize the Biometals of Atlas and the others, forcing them to fall with Ouroboros.

However, Atlas survives. In the secret Expert Mode ending, Atlas appears with Master Thomas alongside the other Mega Men. The significance of this has yet to be revealed, although she and the others appearing immediately after Thomas alludes to the Reploid immortality data and original human bodies implies that they were somehow connected to Thomas and Albert's plans involving the discarded data/bodies.

Attacks[]

Atlas fights with bombs, fireballs, and winding Knuckle Buster shots that targets. Her arena is a rather small room with a single platform and poles that the player can climb as Rospark the Floroid, granting an opportunity to hit her with her weakness: electricity.

Attack Descripton Notes
Knuckle Buster Atlas can manipulate the path of her bullets so they can go horizontally and vertically. She can also fire them forward and downwards if the player is on the ground. She can fire them in these forms: (marked with *)
Ground* Fires straight forward.
Air* Fires three bullets while jumping down from the platform.
Above* Atlas can shoot upwards if the player is on the platform.
Edit* Uses Model F's Buster Edit to fire in a custom path. A red square-segmented line determines the path of the shots, making it easy to dodge.
Charge Buster Atlas fires a charge shot.
Ground Break Atlas jumps forward and strikes the ground, causing a shockwave to surge forward. Only used against Grey.
Megaton Crush Atlas may at times, charge forward with her Busters, which can knock Ashe away a good distance. If Atlas comes to at a wall, she punches it furiously, causing the player to lose their grip on it. Only used against Ashe.
Mine Street She can set bombs on the floor that explode after a few seconds. She sets at least four of these. Only used against Ashe.
Blast Bomber Atlas' ultimate attack has her charging up an intense sphere of energy, which she then punches with her free hand. Upon hitting a wall, it explodes into a wave of eight smaller shots. If fast enough, this can be countered by using the Homing Shot before the sphere hits a wall. It also can be countered by a wind attack.
